Las mezquitas son mucho más impresionantes que las iglesias cristianas, son maravillosas, tan finas como las más bellas catedrales góticas en Occidente. Esta religión ha sido desvirtuada por profesores prejuiciosos, tenemos una curiosa idea del Islam a través de la mala educación. Está representado por nuestros teólogos como seco y vacío, pero hay una tremenda vida en él, en particular en el misticismo islámico, que es la columna vertebral secreta del Islam.

The mosques are far more impressive than Christian churches, they are marvellous, as fine as the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the West. This religion has been misrepresented by prejudiced teachers; we have a funny idea of Islam through bad education. It is represented by our theologians as dry and empty, but there is tremendous life in it, particularly in Islamic mysticism, which is the secret backbone of Islam.
